Hull artist’s innovative designs to tackle vandalism recognised on world stage

A Hull artist who helped transform the city’s streets with colourful and creative designs has been longlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2021. Lydia Caprani was commissioned by Hull City Council to decorate signal cabs on Beverley Road in a bid to tackle graffiti and vandalism. Hull City Council is encouraging parents of pre-school children to take up their child’s free nursery place. All children aged three and four are entitled to 15 hours of free early education a week, and most working families will be eligible for 30 hours per week.
