The High Sheriff in Nomination for the East Riding of Yorkshire and WISHH Trustee, Jacky Bowes, is organising a Midsummer Spectacular Charity Concert to held at Driffield Showground on June 25th to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
Jacky Bowes says ‘Every single penny raised for our chosen four charities will be spent locally to benefit the people of Hull and the East Riding. We hope to make it a real community event, bringing people together from across the region to celebrate the incredible 70 years Her Majesty The Queen has served our Country. We will of course be having a Last Night of the Proms and Firework Finale!’
The concert is raising funds for Hull Hospital’s charity WISHH, The Tribune Trust, Macmillan Yorkshire and Driffield Agricultural Society.
The concert features the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, international violinist Kate Cruscicka and the East Riding Senior Wind Band, who will have a unique opportunity to work with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band in a workshop during the day and to perform with them at the concert.
Jacky went on to say, ‘We are also really hoping that we can help some of the most vulnerable in our area, especially those who have perhaps become isolated during the pandemic, by providing transport to the concert and having a reserved seating area for them to meet each other.’
‘We are extremely grateful to local businesses and charitable trusts who are sponsoring the concert so that we can make this a night to remember and to raise funds for local charities.’
