I was born in Hull’s Old Town with no school qualifications so I became a messenger boy in freight forwarding. I got bored with office work, hitch-hiked around Europe and the Middle East during the 1960/70s. I became a Psychology student at Hull University in 1974. That same year I began my Hessle Road Photo study of the people in the fishing community. Then became a historian, author, film-maker and public speaker – all about Hull’s trawling heritage. I got invited to write articles for The Hull Hub. They are a dynamic team who produce a joyous publication that benefits everyone in the area.

In my life my experiences have been good and bad, I have had many happy and sad times. From Specialist Social Worker to Aerobics instructor, Water Filter Salesperson to Singer, Private Cleaner to Vocal Coach…always loving reading, listening to music, dancing and yoga. Researching Hull and walking to mull it over to being in a duo celebrating Paul Heatons’ music are my passions. Friends and family are my loves.

My play “The Tattershall Castle” was performed thirteen times at venues such as Hull City Hall for Hull City of Culture, Hull Guildhall, The Manor House, York and Bridlington Spa where it won several awards. It was also performed on the original Tattershall Castle paddle steamer in London.
A mixed bag of different flavours! Doing many things over 71 years. I fronted the Jaguars band at 15, had a solo career and was one half of Halliday and Lake. Theatre beckoned and 8 years ago had an urge for lighting and sound production. I run the Drama Hub and mobile theatre tech business for AmDram groups and make films for corporate advertising and documentary styled promotional video, with clientele such as the NHS.
Lynda Harrison’s creative career began in the 60’s when, at age 16, she sang with one of the country’s first ever all-girl bands Many and the Girlfriends. Her work is both funny and thought-provoking, tackling challenging subjects with humour, insight and a delicate touch.
